Google Snake — Play Free Online

Classic

Google Snake is the search-engine Easter egg version of Snake, with its apple-eating snake, board options and clean look.

About Google Snake

Google Snake is the version of Snake that Google put into its search results as an Easter egg. A green snake eats apples on a bright board, grows a segment each time, and the game ends when it runs into a wall or itself. The look is friendly, the board fits a phone and the speed is a little slower than the old phone version, which makes it easier to play for a long time.

The copy hosted here is the same game outside the search page, so it loads without hunting for it.

How to Play Google Snake

  1. Press Play to start.
  2. Steer the snake toward the apple.
  3. Eat to grow; the score counts apples.
  4. Avoid the walls and your own tail.

Controls

  • Arrow keys or WASD: change direction.
  • Touch: swipe.
  • Space: pause.

Tips and Tricks

  • Keep the snake coiled along one side of the board and cross to the apple in straight lines.
  • Do not turn twice in quick succession when the snake is long.
  • The apple can spawn next to your tail; approach from the open side.
  • The board is small, so a long snake needs a pattern, not reactions.
